Why Support EMHAC?

1 in 5 people will be affected by Mental Illness in their lifetime. Suicide is the leading cause of non-accidental death of youth in this country. The Edmonton Mental Health Awareness Committee is a Society established in July 2015 to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness. We do this by producing events that promote inclusion, diversity, hope and inspiration for those living with and loving someone with mental illness. Composed completely of volunteers, to date we have raised $66,000 for local non-profits. We rely solely on the generosity of sponsors, donations and gifts in kind to do the work we do. Our signature event is #YEGsemicolon, a celebration and inspirational day of bringing together people with one another and the supports they need in a fun and exciting environment.

Your support will¬†benefit so many Edmontonians who will be attending this Festival. Many come and say that for the first time, they felt “accepted”. Please help us give that gift to many more.

Our community needs you.

EMHAC Presents #YEGsemicolon

Started in 2015 as a tattoo fundraising event, the event has raised more than $66,000 for mental health programs in the Edmonton area. More than 1,600 tattoos have been given out through two events, and we anticipate hitting our 2,000th tattoo during the 2017 #YEGSemicolon Tattoo Fundraiser.

Participating tattoo shops include: Echo Tattooz, Raptor Tattoo and Broken Arrow Tattoo. This event wouldn’t be possible without their generous support.
